Orientation

New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) oversees the transition experience of new Hokies into Virginia Tech and includes orientation programs for first-year, transfer, and international students as well as their families during the summer months. As part of their onboarding, students can also participate in Weeks of Welcome right before the fall academic semester starts. Weeks of Welcome is a campus-wide collaborative effort that provides a robust experience designed to get new students excited, prepared, and energized about starting their time at VT!

Orientation is a program designed for students and families to learn about the Virginia Tech campus and academic life, meet other new Hokies, connect with a current student leader serving as their Orientation Leader, discover Hokie traditions, interact with the Hokie community, hear about ways to get involved and make sure new students are “On Track” with resources to help them succeed.

Summer Start participants are strongly advised to sign up for Orientation prior to arriving on campus in July. To register and learn more, visit the NSFP website here.
